Why did all of my page content disappear?!

You’re setting up your gorgeous website and all the sudden you notice that all the content on your pages is gone.  It’s in your dashboard but isn’t appearing on your site.  Yes.. we’ve seen this happen quite a lot and I’m happy to tell you your content is still there and the fix will take less than 5 minutes of your time.

So, how do I fix this issue?

Firstly, if you aren’t planning to use WooCommerce, deactivate and then delete the plugin altogether.  The moment you turn this plugin off, your content will come right back and you’re all set.

Second, if you are using WooCommerce on your site we want to make sure that when you installed the plugin or activated it, that you followed all the installation steps.  If you didn’t do that, you’re likely not seeing your content.

Running the setup wizard is crucial as this is one of the most common issues with using WooCommerce. When you fail to run the setup wizard, your site has no way of knowing where your products go and where your customers will check out.

Ensure that you have a designated Shop Page.

If that setup wizard is now gone and you didn’t follow all the installation steps, we need to go set where our actual Shop page is going to reside.

Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display and you’ll see this:

Make sure that in the Shop page drop down that you select Shop as your page and hit the save button.  The moment you hit save all that page content will come right back for you!
