Overcomer Series with Heather Meyer

What do you do?
I live life and love the small moments. I cherish every minute of every day. I share my stories because I am more than enough. I want other women to know that they are way more than enough just as they are now. They are more than gorgeous Instagram pictures and Pinterest perfect homes. This very moment matters…it matters so much. A year ago I nearly died from a very complicated infection secondary to a medical condition. It opened my eyes and I finally started living. I don’t want others to face death in order to begin their lives.
Growing up, did you always dream that you would be doing what you’re doing now?
Never in my wildest dreams!
What made you decide to “go for it” in terms of your career goals/ambitions?
I found myself separated and alone. I knew that I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. So I went for it…went back to school, and I am helping others daily using my education and my own personal experience.
Did you face adversity? How did you overcome that?
Divorce, serious illness of myself and my child, loss of friends and family, loss of “normal” life. I overcome this daily. I have never been happier…never lived a fuller life than I do now!
A lot of women have these big goals & big ideas that they’d like to bring to life, what advice would you give them in terms of how they can make that happen?
You are in control. You are more than enough. You are loved. You have a voice. Your stories matter.
What’s the biggest regret you have when it comes to your blog/shop/business?
I wish I would take more time to actually write all the stories and experiences that I have lived and am living.
What’s been your proudest moment so far?
Passing my National EMT boards and my National Pharmacy boards. 15 years after graduating from college, I still have the desire for knowledge and learning and using what I learn to give wholeheartedly to others.
And, just because we like our coffee around here, how do you take yours?
Homemade cold brew with vanilla almond milk!
I believe in the story of the overcomer. That has been my story and I believe that is your story too. We want your journey here on the blog to help encourage others just like you and me. If you’d like to share that with us, please come over and share your story with us!
Was this story an encouragement to you? Share it with others!
